The Brief

Women’s Aid Federation Northern Ireland (WAFNI), a regional NGO, wanted a complete redesign of their existing site. While it won an award when it was first developed, the old site had become outdated. They wanted a new website that reflected their position as the lead agency on domestic violence in Northern Ireland. It should be a portal for seeking help and information and be accessible from a range of devices. They also rebranded in 2020 and wanted a consistent identity throughout their local groups.

The Solution

I designed a flexible theme template that could be used for all local Women’s Aid groups. I developed new WordPress websites for WAFNI, Fermanagh Women’s Aid and North Down & Ards Women’s Aid. This included a jobs board, events and publications database, online donations, email subscription service, embedded videos, social network integration and custom Google Maps.
